Monday August 29: strike NS staff in northwestern part of the Netherlands

No train traffic around Amsterdam, major impact on national and international train traffic

Message

On Monday, August 29, there will be a strike by NS employees in the northwestern Netherlands. As a result, there will be no NS trains in the province of North Holland for almost the entire day. There will also be inconvenience in the rest of the Netherlands, and this strike also has major consequences for international train traffic.

There are limited trains to/from Schiphol Airport. We advise you to use alternative transportation. The night trains will continue to run as much as possible.

NS advises travelers to choose alternative transportation or postpone your trip. No alternative bus transport is available.

Plan your trip in the trip planner shortly before departure. The journay planner will be updated on Sunday evening. For the consequences for international train traffic: see the separate message.

The unions have also announced actions for the rest of the week in other regions of the Netherlands. NS is currently assessing the impact this will have on train traffic and passengers. There is no more information on this at the moment.
